6061 and 6063 are both widely used aluminium alloys, but they solve different procurement problems. Choosing the grade before you send the enquiry helps us quote the correct material, size and cutting length the first time.

Choose 6061 when the part needs a stronger all-round engineering alloy. It is commonly selected for machined components, brackets, jigs, fixtures, structural members and general fabrication where strength and weldability matter. Share the drawing, load requirement and machining process with your engineer before finalising a grade.
6063 is widely preferred for architectural and visible extruded sections because it offers a clean extruded surface and is suitable for anodising. It is a practical choice for frames, channels, decorative angle, display structures, partitions and profiles where surface appearance matters.
Confirm the section shape, finished dimensions, length, quantity, grade, whether the material will be machined or welded, and whether it needs anodising or powder coating. This avoids ordering a visually suitable alloy for a heavy-load job, or a structural grade where a clean finish is the priority.
6061 is generally chosen for higher-strength engineering and structural applications, while 6063 is commonly selected for architectural sections and finish quality. Final selection should follow the actual drawing and duty.
